CANWARN Spring 2017 Training Update #3

The first public CANWARN session of the year is now history and was history-making. On the evening of Wednesday, April 5th, over 270 attended a training session in Owen Sound. This is a new personal record for me and is a testament to the interest in the program that existed in Grey, Bruce and surrounding counties. As another indication of the continuing popularity of the program, the Stratford evening session on April 25th is now full. More details can be found below concerning the sessions in Renfrew, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Fort Frances/Emo, Kenora and Dryden. In addition, a session is now scheduled on Thursday, May 11 in Mallorytown with details to follow in the next couple of weeks and a session has been added for Mattawa on June 1.

As mentioned earlier, if you are interested in attending a session and you haven’t contacted me already, please RSVP to me at geoff.coulson@canada.ca except for the sessions in Sarnia and Markham where specific RSVP instructions can be found below.
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my thanks to Elizabeth Playfair of the Kenora Red Cross. Elizabeth has been a staunch supporter of CANWARN for many years and has hosted many CANWARN sessions in the Kenora Red Cross office. The closure this summer of the Red Cross office necessitated finding a new venue and my thanks to Barbara Larson of the Kenora St. John Ambulance for stepping up to offer their facilities.
